Colburn reprimands John Wesley Hackworth for the tone of his last letter. ‘I cannot think you would afterwards regret publishing a letter which, however true its statement of fact may be (and these I believe on your own word) is nevertheless so little calculated from it’s tone to convince others’. Colburn believes that he had given Timothy Hackworth more praise than others in his publication. Discusses early railways, blast pipe. Enclosure states his book is being republished so John Wesley should send information for it.
