Dear Miss Hackworth,

I recieved the other day the intimidation of the death of your dear Father, & on behalf of Mrs Tindall & myself would assure you of our sincere condolance in your loss, & of our prayers that yourself & all the bereaved ones may be succoured with grace to submit to the un-erring will of God & sustained by the well governed hope of joining him who has gone before.
Though our knowledge of your dear Father was comparatively slight still the intimacy of Mrs T. with others who have been so closely connected with you & the fact of my having so recently enjoyed the hospitality & society of yourself & your dear sister invests this bereavement with more than ordinary interest & you have our unfeigned sympathy and prayers. If at any time it should be convenient for you to pay us a visit while here, as I suppose we are likely to be re-appointed to this Circuit one should be truely happy to welcome you or anyone connected with you.
Mrs. T felt deeply interested in my account of the dear little Holmes – accept our kindest regards and please assure all your family of the same – not ommitting to remember me when opportunity serves to all your dear young people who were so kind to me.

Presuming that you are most probably at Shildon, I shall address this accordingly.
Believe me,

My dear Miss H
Yours very respectfully & sincerely
John Tindall.
