The University of Michigan holds a letter written by Timothy Hackworth 15 November 1825 20 days after the Stockton & Darlington Railway opened difficulty he had in operating 'locomotion'; encloses a copy of letter written by Timothy Hackworth 3 July 1847 and a copy of a sheet of notes that seem to have been taken 1829 (these are not present).
