To enquire what reason is assigned or can be assigned why the Locomotive Engine man did not load in regular rotation last Friday afternoon. [Signature in pencil] {Jos Pease}

Agust 12th 1831
Reasons assigned for the above [underlined], on Friday the 29th Day of July Last past there being A great number of ballast wagons standing in so much that the East end of the loading siding was obstructed; which has almost always been the case either with ballast or Ingine wagons and in such cases they are obliged to take the wagons out on to the Main Line at A shut put

in for that purpose farther up, but it so happened as the person attending the bank foot was lowering the wagons dowen as they usually do as the wagons are taking away from the East end to Clear the bank foot, that they got too much way and got past the shut and blocked them all in; and Instead of the the [sic] Locomotive Ingine men refusing to Load at the Brusselton bank foot as has bean reported they loaded at the West end of the loading train and pulled them up towards the
