the Company is now paying Mathew Stephenson 6½d per waggon for all the waggons that goes to Middlesbro and Mathew Stephenson is paying the Leaders 6d per waggon; so that he is Pocketing 0½d per waggon for all the Coals that is taking to Middlesbro I would consider 5½d per waggon A sufficient Price, to pay the Leaders; and as we have no need of Mathew Stephensons Superintendence now; as the Company has an Agent at Bowsfield Lane that is well quallified to manage the Leaders when I am not there
{ To get tenders or agree with M Stephenson }
________ The next thing I wish to point out is the Darlington Croft and Yarm Coals we could Lead with the Engines at this time if the Company thinks well of it; and

as there would be no dainger of getting Horses as soon as they would be wanted again; it would be A considerable saving to the Company to do so at this time
{To try Yarm until the 24th JP}
