John Grahams
Report on the Leading of Coals on the Middlesbro Line by Locomotive Power; we commenced on Monday morning to Lead the Coals by Engines on the above Line and has continued during the week with great success, the Engines has Led to Middlesbro the Last 4 Days 964 waggons and the Horses at Night 269
The Engines could have led them all without the assistance of Horses, Had the Switches and Points been Safe for the Engines to have gone down at Nights, the Switches and Points above alluded to are very Daingerous They ought

to be all double Switches and Hung instead of Single Switches and Points; if this was done the Engines might go down at Nights

The Plan aluded to by Mr Jas Pease Last week of Ticket Boxes at Bowesfield Lane, and Middlesbro might be made to work well, which would be A Saving to Company of 52 £ per annum which is now paid to Knox for the above work

The Coaches can be halled by the Co[a]ch Engine on the Middlesbro Line if the Company thinks Proper it would be A Great accomodation to people Traveling between Darlington & Middlesbro
