May 17th 1833, Reports made to the Stockton and Darlington Railway Commettee by John Graham
Gentlemen
I beg leave to call your attention to the following accident which took place at Urley nook on Saturday last; ______________________________
As Ralph Morgan was desending with the Coronation Engine Charls Jenneson was assending with the Lord Durham Engine, and threw the Carelessness and willfullness of the Enginemen; the 2 Engines met at the above place; The Coronation Engine was throwing over and six Loading waggons off the way; the Tenders and Engines Broke____
I have ordered both the Engine men to attend the Commettee to day
[in pencil] Damage is suposed to be 20 £ at Least
2£ of Jennison – Morgan 2£-10s this Mo[nth] – 2£ 10/- next Mo[nth] – and to go to and [sic] old engine

There has been another Fire or 2 this week which is reported in Andersons & Sidgwicks Books there is nothing that can prevent it but Keeping the Speed down
