Decr 28th 1832; Reports made to the Stockton & Darlington Railway Commettee by John Graham

Decr 17th;
8 Waggons belonging to South Durham Colliery were set out upon the Black Boy plain by there own man the waggons not being properly Dragged as they ought to have been before they were left; As soon as the other waggons came upagainst them before the Bank Rider could get them Chained they got away and came down to the Foot of the Plain and were Broke; on the 21st other 2 of there waggons when desending the Plain the Couppling Chain pin came out and no Side Chains

being on they got away and was Broke also

As the Coal Trade is very Bad at present and not Likely to get any better it is thought before March; and as the Company has now A Great Deal of Engine Power and at present no Half Imployed; I think it would be advisable to Lay all the Horses to A Side for the next 2 Months or untill the Trade gets better both upon the Middlesbro Line and the Main Line
