Gentlemen
In obedience to your orders of last week I have paid particualar attention to the dispatch of the Coal Trade at Bowesfield Lane Stockton and Middlesbro; and the following points appear to me to require particular attention and energectic persons to give the desired facility and dispatch required by the Coal Trade
First—To watch the arrival and order to there proper destination the loaden waggons also arrange the regular dispatch of the Empty waggons
_ _ To order assistance to remove loaded waggons in their turn whether for Stockton or Middlesbro’, and also assistants to the Teamers at Stockton

and runing of waggons along the Bridge when required
_ _ The leading of the loaded waggons to Middlesbro’ from the deposit on the yorkshire side of the River and Empty ones from Middlesbro’ along the Bridge to be under the same persons direction as above discribed
_ _ this person to order the time of commencement and ceasing to work of the Contractor who runs the waggons along the Bridge _ to Receive the fitters’ orders from the weigh Machine at Bowsfield Lane as to the destination of Coal waggons; and forward the Tickets to the Clark at the weigh machine for registry {JB} [“Jonathan Backhouse” in pencil in a later hand]
