October 12th 1832 Reports made to the Stockton & Darlington Railway Commettee by John Graham

We have got on very well this week yet we might have led more Coals with the Engines if the Engine men had gon on to other Engines while there owen were getting Repairs; When I send word for any of them to go onto Other Engines they Refuse and say I have nothing to do with them I consider if that I have Charge of the Leading I ought to have Charge of the Leaders

Octr 15th
George Forsters man for Refusing to draw his waggons back for the Engine to pass at Carter Lane {2/6}

Octr 17th
Thos Laing for bringing away Empty waggons from Stockton before his Turn {2/6}

+ as it is very much practised the Engines carring hevey goods when assending with the Empty train Viz Iron Mettle Sand Loom Corn &c; and as it is both Injures to the Engines and the Coal Owners waggons it would be better to Lay it off; and Let the Carriers carrey sutch goods; untill Engines are set apart for it. {No Engineman to carry any good}
