As the Companey has provided A Great Number of Cuppling Chains nearly as many as one wanted I wrote to the Coal Owners three weeks Ago desiring them to get all there Chains Fastned on and there pins Fastned to there Cuppling Chains; But they have taking Little thought about it and our Chains and Pins are now Lying about all the Chainging places as they were doing before and according to all appearence will get both Lost and Stoling To prevent this it would be advisable to Stop the whole of the Waggon, at Shildon that wants there Chains and pins fastned an until they Send a man to fastne them on; and Likewise all the Waggons that want numbers as there is A great deal of Waggons sent

upon the Line Lately without Numbers and should aney of those waggons be left and any Damage don thereby we cany tell who has Left them

Robert Pickering for Carring a man in his Tender the man had to get off at Ayclife Lane and got off when the Engine was going at full Spead and sliped his foot and was throwing in before the Tender and it was with great Diffictly he saved himself from being Crushed to Death
