We commenced halling the Coach on the Middlesbro Line by Loco- Power on Monday on the Middlesbro Line, and has got on very well but on account of the Coach being so near to the Engine the Passengers were so much annoid by the Cinders and Smoke that I was obliged to send the Union Coach on to the above Line_________ The Coach between the Lands and St Helens are doing very Little

John Graham being apprehencive of some alterations taking place in the Leading department after the different Contractors takes the Engines into there hands to Repair and Find men to work them ___ John Graham will thank the Company for instructions how to act in his department after the alteration takes place

in obeadence to your orders of last week I got a search warrant and went through the Clarance Railway, and searched the Shops at Crowtrees Colliery for Coupling Chains and found them as follows
On the Crowtree Colliery waggons and at the Colliery 26 Chains
In Joiners Shop ___ 1 do
in Black Smiths Shop 1 do
in do 7 Pins
On Various Parts of the Line 22 Chains
John Graham also seased 2 waggons Loading with Coals at Travelers Rest Brought them on to the S & D Railway one of the waggons belongs the Company the Other Norwad
