June 17th 1836
John Graham Reports to the Commettee
On Friday last as the Lading Train was assending Brusselton West Bank a wheel Broke upon the first waggon of the Set, the Waggon was throwing over onto her side and plowed the way up & Broke the Rope the Wheel Rim was Cracked[.] This being the Case J G considers the Colliery liable to Damages, the Waggon belonged to Old Etherly Colliery

On Saturday Last as George Bell & Partner

was taking a Waggon Down Black Boy North Bank with Mile or Boundry Stones the Waggon went a main down the Plain, Damage to Waggons about 1 - 15 - 9
{ to pay ½ damages }
On Monday Last Stephen Wilson another of the Companys Servants was over Etherly Plain with a Waggon & Stones he neglected to ajust the Switches at the foot of the Plain and through the Waggons off the Way Broke 2 Angle Sheaves Damage not assertained
{ to pay ½ damages if they don’t exceed 15/- }
