As it was requested of me to find out the number of cuppling chains that would be wanted to fit out each Waggon with A cuppling chain I have gone through the line and branch, and has found that there is 858 Chains wanted_________{EP}

September 13th 1831; William Scott [struck through] Dunn imployd by John Goldie to lead the Soil from his Cut; came up the main way at Ratcliffe Siding with the intention of dropping back into the high end of the Siding instead of going into the low end of the siding which was free for him; and When No 9 Ingine were Close to him he held the switch after his owen waggon was into the siding untill the tender was in also and then let go the Switch and through the Ingine of the way and Brake the Tender Wheels and bent som of the Rods belonging the Ingine and
