traveling with waggons 2/11d per Ton___________
All other goods which are charged 2½d Per ton and ½d for Hallage and 1d wharfage for 12 Miles would be 3/1d per Ton Leaving for Portrage Loading and Disloading and Traveling with Goods 3/7 per Ton _ as they Charge 6/8 for such Goods
I gave notice to Ann Addamson on the 23d of March Last who has the Leading of Mr Surtesses Coals that her Horses would be no longer wanted after the 31st of March as the Railway Company was going to Lead all the coals by Engines; Regardless of this they have still continued sending there Horses down the Line I have seen Mr Surtess about it and he says

that he has no objections of having his coals Led by Engines provided the Company would hall his waggons up to the Pit from the Branch End; I told him the Company would not be willing to do so _________________
He then sayed without the Company would take them to the Pit he would not have his Coals Led by Engines as the Leading from the Branch End to the Pit cost nothing I also pointed out the extray charges that would come against him if he Led his owen Coals viz the Running and Teaming of Coals at Stockton which the Company now paid 17/- per Hundred and the Standage for his waggons after A Reasonable Time
