August 30th 1833, Reports made to the Stockton and Darlington Railway Commettee by John Graham

We have had plenty of Trade all this week and well suplied with Engine Power; we are still very badley suplied with Water down the Line; There is not less then 24 Thousand Gallons of water Pumped out of the well at the Black Boy Branch End per Day { JP Jr Chairman }

There will upwards of 400 Waggons go down the Clarence Railway this month; I went down it yesterday with 4 waggons and the way is in A good deal better state than I expected to have found it, I don’t think there will be any doubt of them keeping it open this winter
