September 12th 1831 John Snell went into the Ale House at Aycliffe Lane and left his Horse and Waggons standing upon the line about 9 O Clock at Night without any light on; when No 9 Ingine Came up & Ran up against them. Reported by Mr Hackworth {10/-}

Same Night Thos Fleatom was travling without A light and almost Run down by the Same Ingine Reported by Mr Hackworth

September 15th 1831; As No 9 Ingine was cumming up Oak Tree Battree; No 6 Ingine was following him up, and kept upon the Main line instead of following No 9 Ingine up the siding; with the Intention of taking past him; but as both Ingine men strove whether of them was to be first; No 6 Ingine past No 9 Ingine and was taking of the Main line into the siding in before No 9 Ingine; when She came up and Ran up against the 8th Waggon belonging No 6 Ingine and Brake the Water Cask Carrage and damaged the Ingine; and Bent Several Rails; and Obstructed the line nearly 4 Houres
