In obeadance to your orders of last week I have examned the Coupling Chain that Broke in Brusselton Bank and there is no mark upon it ___

I have received Tenders for the Repairing of the waggons as Follows __

July 30th Robert Pickering for Loading his Engine away from Shildon with his Crank Pin Loose and knew it was so, the Pin came out before he traveled 2 miles and Broke the Rods; this is the third offence; and as he is A Very imprudent Lazey Fellow I have dismissed him {quite right}

We have been raither better suplied with water the for Part of this week then was expected owing to the Rain we had on Monday last, If one of the Old Engines can be made to Pump out of the Skeren [Skerne] it ought to be don as soon as possable; as we are Badley suplied at Darlington and Goospool water is do
