John Lysle for Leaving his Engine at Aycliffe Lane and sending 2 of the Firemen to Stockton with the Engine and neither of them capable of having charge. ___ This is the second offence I have not seen him since but I wrote to him to seek for himselfe as he is A Very careless and indolent young man

The Engines has been badly suplied with water this week; If we had not Joined an extray Barrell to Part of the Engines we would not have got the Coals Led this week

A seareous accident happnd Last night near Goospool as No 1 Engine was desending an Ass was upon the Railway as the above place, as soon as the Engine man saw the Ass he and his Fireman got off the Engine, and the Fireman one of the Apprentices (Thos Hutchinson) not being out of the way the Tender wheel went over his Foot, which has been to Take off this morning {HP.}
