March 29th 1834, Reports made to the Stockton and Darlington Railway Commettee by John Graham

John Graham was ordred to Report to the Commettee this week the number of waggons belonging to each Carrier the State they are in and the Best made of keeping them in repair
John Hougal has 11 waggons only in an indifferent State with 9 Bad wheels and 1 midling, and 5 Small Axles and Side Boards and Sheths only indifferent
Geo Longstaff has 11 waggons in a worse state then Hougals with 13 Bad wheels & 4 midling and 3 Bad Axles with the Side Boards and other Scantlens in a Bad State
Elias Smith has 13 waggons in

A very Fair condition except the wheels 9 bad and 8 midling
As to the best made of keeping then in repair they would be kept in much better repair if they were all in the Companys Own Hands which I would Strongly recomend the Company to take them at a valuation and put them all upon Springs and wheels with Malable Iron Rims as the Cast Iron wheels are not Safe
I Would Further recomend the Coaches and Coach Engine Tenders having all Malable Iron Rims upon there wheels

The waggons which was Broke by Mathew the Coachman is still unrepaired must John Graham get it Repaired
