August 22nd 1834 Reports made to the Stockton and Darlington Railway Commettee by J Graham
Gentlemen
In obedeance to your orders of last week I agreed with a Constable of Stockton, to watch the Engines and Loading waggons at Stockton 2 weeks at 3 Shillings per Night, the second Night he took one Pattison of Stockton, taking Coals of one of Mr Pratmans Waggons, he was taking before the Magistrates at Stockton, who has sent him to Durham for 2 months
I have measured the Horse Shades at Middlesbro and they are the

same height and breath as the Present Coach House at Stockton; There is 21 yards to spare at Present, 7 yds will do for the Coach House at Stockton and 7 yds for the one wanted at St Helens___I would Recomend tenders being taking in for the Removing of the present Coach House at Middlesbro, and the Lengthening of the one at Stockton, the Contractor to take down part of the Horn Shades and Remove it to Stockton and to Load the Part upon waggons intended for St Helens
