Septr 5th 1834, Reports made to the Stockton & Darlington Railway Commettee by J Graham

Gentlemen
I beg leave to inform you that I have nothing to Report of any importance, except the Coal Trade which is very urgen[t] at this time, the Tides being at there Best and several large Vessels being in and wanting to be off whilst the Tides are good, we Shiped a good many Coals yesterday and to day I Expected to have Cleared all away, I arrainged with the Teemers to keep on untill 10 OClock last Night, and to Commence at 2 this morning with bothe Lifting Engines; I am sorrey to say that I shall be

disapointed on account of 6 Engines all going into the Shades yesterday afternoon which has reduced us to 8 Engines this Morning

Viz 7 of Mr Hackworths and 1 of Mr Listers Mr Kitching & Mr Lister ought to keep men working at there Engines at Nights at sutch a time as this
