March 16th 1838

John Graham begs leave to call the attention of the Commettee to the following Alterations which is necesary to be made for the Safety and improvement of the Coach Trains and Traffic on the Railway
1s The Switches between the Fitters Offices and Exchaing at Middlesbro
2nd The Switches at Bowesfield Lane and Road Leading to the Coach Station at Stockton
3d The Switches at Tulleys two or three pair wants taking out which Faced the Engines and the Assending Line improved
4h An Engine Shed at Stockton & one at Shildon will be Wanted

John Graham Reports that on the Night of Monday Last the No 4 Engine was brought up to Shildon with the Crank Pins Striped on both Sides and Rods &c much bent J G is of opinion that the Engine has been traveling to[o] fast [underlined] { Fine 10/- }

On Tusday the 20th two Empty waggons was blowing out of Wilsons Branch at Earley Nook The Magnet Engine Ran into them and did considerable damage the Engineman was much to Blame by not Keeping a good Look Out
